1. Clinical case presentation 00'09''

The patient is a 21-year-old male patient who has been diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism. The preoperative imagery identified a lower right parathyroid adenoma.

2. 3D reconstruction 00'20''

A 3D CT-scan reconstruction is performed and clearly shows the adenoma and the other cervical structures. The program also allows for a simulation of the internal endoscopic view with a virtual camera, and this shows us the adenoma.

3. Cervical incision 00'40''

The procedure begins with a 3cm median cervical incision 2cm above the sternal notch. A 5mm, 30 degree Storz endoscope is introduced following the dissection performed laterally to the strap muscles.

4. Superimposition 00'54''

A primary superimposition of the 3D model is performed using an external camera and with the clavicle and the mandibular arch as markers. The virtual camera is placed in the same position as the real one at the right side of the patient. The virtual internal view is superimposed, showing in green the lower right adenoma and its vascular pedicle, the carotid artery and the trachea.

5. Adenoma resection 01'16''

The gland is resected after ligation of its pedicle using clips.
